Labor of Love

Sometimes I don't have the time or energy to post because I am so busy pruning the olive trees, managing the grapevines, tending the garden and in general holding back chaos. So here is a short You Tube video that gives a sense of the kind of energy it takes one man to restore and run a 5-acre farm.

  1. Hi Jack, I just discovered your blog today. As a fellow NY Italophile, it's brought a huge smile to my face. I hope to mirror your dream one day myself, but until then I make do growing olives, lemons and grapes here in NY... No small challenge on that either. Looking forward to your next posts. Thanks !!!

  2. Hello Mr. Stephens, I came across your story while on another page. I too, hope to mirror your dream one day, before I get too old. lol (*_*)

How did you and your wife find your farm?

  3. Thanks, Ramatulli, sounds like you are halfway there. But G, the answer to finding the farm is long and circuitous and involves a battle with a mountain lion, among other accidents I couldn't possibly recount for you here. Hopefully, I can set it down in a linear fashion someday. In the meantime, if you look back at some of the past posts in the blog, you may get a sense...?

    Ciao!
